This was the first temple in DMV area. Temple started from home in 1988 and later moved to new building on 2007. The objective of The Hindu Temple of Metropolitan Washington is to give genuine religious services in accordance with the sastras to benefit individuals, families, and the community at large. The mission also includes preserving and propagating Vedic, Sastra, Purana, and Hindu traditions, as well as instilling Sanatana dharma ideals, culture, and heritage in future generations.
